The Bossier Levee District was created by R.S. 38:291(B);304). As outlined in state statute, the Governor appoints nine members to the Board of Commissioners. Four members are selected from Ward 2; four members are selected from Wards 1 and 4; and one at-large member is appointed who many live in any of these wards. All commissioners must own land located within the district.
