VI. REQUESTS BY VISITORS
A. Mike Defalco, representing Broussard & Company - requesting to present and discuss the Bossier Levee District’s Annual Financial Report and Audit for the year ending June 30 th , 2018.
B. Mark Hudson, City Engineer and Donald Clayton, TRC Engineers representing the City of Bossier City, is seeking a permit to for road construction as part of the Walter O. Bigby Carriageway improvements; a roundabout will replace the current intersection of Hamilton Road and Old Benton Highway. The existing road to the Bossier City Water Treatment plant will be reconstructed to an
elevation approximately 1 foot above the existing roadway and this will result in a more widened opening in the current Red River Levee.
C. Stanley and JoAnn Aultman are requesting a permit to construct a storage building on their residential property located at 137 Southwood Drive, Bossier City, alongside Benoit Bayou Ditch.
D. Aillet, Fenner, Jolly, & McCLelland, Inc. on behalf of the Bossier Parish Police Jury, are seeking a construction permit for the extension of the existing North Bossier Shared Use Trail, for approximately 1.55 miles, running along the west side of Benoit Bayou and north of Wemple Road.
E. John Douglas Berry, Berry Plumbing and Ken Smith, Smith Engineering Co., Inc. to request approval for a permit to build a new Berry Plumbing, LLC office building/warehouse located at 5501 Benton Road, Benton LA.
F. Micha Duffy, Coyle Engineering – representing the Bossier Parish Police Jury with plans of the proposed GOHSEP – HMGP Drainage Project are requesting approval for additional right of ways and drainage servitudes at Lafitte Lane and Cross Creek Drive (Entrance into the Lakewood Subdivision), along Willow Chute Bayou at Kingston Road.
G. Micha Duffy, Coyle Engineering – representing Texstock, LLC are requesting a temporary low water crossing on Red Chute bayou that will facilitate the hauling of dirt from the east side of the bayou to the west for a 37+ acre development at the north east corner of East Texas Street/Hwy 80 and Stockwell Road and a levee crossing over the Red Chute Bayou Levee.
VII. OLD BUSINESS
A. Mike McSwain - Architect, to present and update the projected increase of the cost on the Bossier Levee District’s Facility Improvement Project.
B. Mark Long to discuss the previously approved Cordaro Right of Way, clarify to the Board that it is for a one-year Right of Way and seek to ask the Board to ratify a second year option.
C. Mark Long to discuss and update the Board on the progression of the Red Chute Levee Projects.
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
A. To review and discuss the Reeder Subdivision, Unit 1-A Plat (Lots 15-A, 16-A, & 17-A) for approval from FBL & Associates – Sandra Davis, P.E.
B. Mark Long to seek authorization to purchase 2 New Utility Trailers from BigTex Trailers, Minden at the Low Quote of (1 @ $4,105.77 x 2 = $8,211.54).
C. To discuss a proposed Crisis Leave Pool Policy for the employees of the Bossier Levee District.
D. To discuss a contribution request from the Association of Levee Boards of Louisiana – LA Flood Risk Coalition of $5,000.00 (or less) for the year of 2018.
E. Resolution authorizing Secretary to transfer $240,000.00 from Huddleston/Smith Investments to checking account for expenditures. ($40,000.00 previously approved prior to the meeting for expenses.)
